Born in Johannesburg South Africa Phyllis has been living in Australia since 1993.
Phyllis has been teaching dressmaking for over 35 years so it was no surprise that when doing a Diploma of Arts at Box Hill TAFE in 2003 she discovered a passion for felting, and in particular felting clothes. With her experience in patternmaking she started making felting clothing to fit and flatter everybody no matter what shape. She takes great delight in designing the felt fabric and then creating a vest or jacket that looks elegant and fits and flatters the wearer
Having written several sewing books in the 1980's it was no sujrprise when she published her book 'Felted Vests' to much acclaim.
